How can you claim the FETF Grant?
Do you want money towards your new Farming Equipment? Good news, the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) is now live, where if you are an English Farmer, you can claim up to 60% back on eligible items. But who can actually claim?
Who can apply for the FETF Grant?
The first qualification is that you must live in England to claim. You must also have a business registered as a farmer, horticulturist, forestry owner or contractor.
If you are applying for the Animal Health and Welfare grant in the fund, you must farm one of the following:
- Beef Cattle
- Dairy Cattle
- Sheep
- Pigs
- Layering Chickens
- Broiler Chickens
How much can you claim back with the FETF Grant?
When you apply, you must request to claim an amount between £1,000 and £25,000. There is no limit on how many items you can claim, as long as there are no duplicates and the value is within the specified brackets.

How can you apply for the FETF Grant?
1. Pick your Kit
- Check the specifications of the items you to apply for match the specifications listed in the grant paperwork.
- Check availability of items.
- Do not order anything at this stage. You are not yet guaranteed the grant.
2. Apply for the grant
- Register with Rural Payments Service and update relevant details.
- Register with the Funding Investment Fund Service, this is expected to take 20 minutes. Each grant theme requires a separate application.
- Submit your applications by midday on 10th July 2025.
3. Claim back up to 60%
- Your application will be scored and checked for eliibility.
- You will be informed if you are successful, and be given the chance to accept the grant offer.
- You can buy your desired equipment and then claim back the specified amount on your application.
Our FETF Grant Appliation Top Tips
We know the paperwork can feel like a chore, but it's actually pretty straightforward There are are few things you can do to make the application easier and increase your chances of being accepted.
- Your application score can be boosted by 20% if you provide evidence you have discussed your application with a Vet.
- Make sure your SBI number and contact info are up to date with the RPA.
- Apply early - funding is limited and very competitive.
- Wait until you've been approved for the grant before making any purchases.
- Only buy items from the grant list - and keep all your receipts.
